TOO MUCH FUN

Something really special to get to spend ten days with this great young man...grandson #1 also known as CEMA or Christian. Fourteen years old and going to be a freshman in high school.

What fun we had  ! And he was such a big
help with so many things--Sawdust booth sitting to planting around the yard.
Afternoons were spent on the basketball court of course and late nights watching movies.

I'm exhausted, but such a great kind of exhaustion. Super to spend time with this polite, thoughtful young man. Love him lots!

JOYS OF GRANDPARENTING...PART 2

Oh, these boys! Today we celebrate the second of three...and what a celebration he is! Here's to now twelve-year-old Hank. I remember clearly walking with family friend Dave and older brother Christian through the nighttime streets of NYC to see this beautiful child for the very first time.

Beautiful boy

Always intense

Artistic in so many ways...here, body art

And, today on his twelfth birthday, the hair color of the day is PURPLE...quite fitting for the royalty this young man is!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HANK!

JOYS OF GRANDPARENTING

Daughter Kendall
Oh, the joys of parenting and grandparenting!
I know some of you might put a question mark there instead of the exclamation, but I choose to linger on the joys even while knowing there are times when it feels more like struggle.

Today is oldest grandson Christian's 14th birthday and I choose to not only remember the joyful moments, but celebrate him here today.

Star-bellied sneetch Christian

Blue seems his color

Two years ago--some middle school madness?

So here's to Christian--also known as CEMA...and here's to the JOYS to come!

Happy 14th Birthday!!!
