Creation starts with vision. Vision is a dream fed by desire and fueled by direction from the heart. I know many folks are having trouble getting started on just about anything with the many deterrents in our current world climate. As Constantin Brancusi said, "Ti see far is one thing, going there another."
It takes a lot of action, a great deal of work usually, to achieve what it is we say that we want. Yet dedication to vision leads us to the highest of aspirations.
In the past week I have been blessed to be witness to some folks who have had not only a vision, but the dedication to pull it off. I can only hope to aspire to the same. My long range vision has been the same for many years now. At times it overwhelms me in the vastness of its scope. And, yet, somehow, I always return to it. Causing what I love and what matters most to me through my art, my writing, and even my connections with others to come into being is at the core of this vision. Sharing this life filled with all the joyful qualities of living a full, rich life of integrity and purpose is basic.
Where will this take me in the coming days? I'm starting simply. We'll see.

JUST IMAGINE...
Imagination. Seems like we need a lot of it right now in these troubling times. And it is working...in some pretty amazing ways.
Not only are parents and teachers tapping into their imaginations in order to teach and keep young people engaged. Not only are hospitals and staff tapping in to find new and creative ways to handle shortages of supplies and the glut of Covid patients with all that entails. Not only are restaurants and other "essential" businesses quickly imagining new ways to keep employees busy and business going.
So much more can be attributed to imagination.
As I read through what scientists are achieving right now and the work done to re-fit plants to produce what is needed (but where the heck is the toilet paper?),I am truly amazed. Plants like GM and Ford are re-tooled and manufacturing ventilators. JPL scientists have designed one ventilator now that uses even fewer parts than previously thought required. Samsung has made a wristband that, among other things, buzzes when the wearer comes within six feet of another person. This last is being tested and used in some of the aforementioned plants to help maintain a safe work environment.
And, of course, there is so much more. I am sure many of you are aware of the innovative things that are taking place now. Please share.
We will get through this together...and apart because of these things and more.
Imagination. Ingenuity. Resourcefulness. Resilience. Spirit.

SO MANY THINGS I DON'T KNOW
| Work in progress...stopped |
Crows aren't so much left-or right-beaked as they are left-or right-eyed. The birds' extreme binocular vision--characterized by an unusually wide field of view in comparison to other species--actually helps crows see better with one eye at a time.
Surprise! I'm really a crow.
No, not really, but the monocular vision is certainly something we have in common. Fun little fact...and something I didn't know before.
So, while I wait for my new lenses to correct my monocular vision to be put into my frames, the piece to the left will probably just have to stop for a while. Closing one eye is sometimes just too much like work. Guess the crow has one up on me, after all. Guess I knew that.
